Tritton 720 + 7.1 Surround Headset in Review

11 Jun 2017

The Tritton 720+ is a headphone designed exclusively for the gaming purposes. It has a 7.1 surround sound and brilliant in-line audio controls. These are also very comfortable for a gaming headset. However, there are also a few drawbacks; for example, the headphones pump is not very impressive. For normal use, these headphones are more than just good, but may not be ideal for professional use. There are many headphones in the same price range, with far impressive features. In this scenario, the Tritton 720+ would not stand a chance to its competitors, most importantly, because it fails to recreate the exact sound effects as intended by the developers. Many people may say that the 720 is too cheaply made for a gaming headset, however, its 7.1 surround sound is able to serve quite a decent audio. It is definitely not the best on board, but quite a decent one.

Incredible range of sounds

The Tritton 720+ is able to reproduce sounds that lie in the range of 25 Hz up to 22 kHz. This is actually a very narrow range, but for normal use, it would still do fine. Although the sound is generally brilliant, the lows are not very defined. The headphones might not be able to recreate them as powerful as they were meant to be. However, the 50 mm drivers allow it to work quite just well enough. So if you are looking for a normal headphone, these are just fine, but you would definitely be disappointed if you are an audiophile.

There are a few points to be noted though. The sound quality offered by Tritton 720+ is very much unlike that offered by the conventional headsets. This distinguished sound space makes sure that even the smallest of details are not missed. The microphone works well. It has a response range of 100 Hz to 10 kHz, which is again as narrow as the headphone’s audio range. This, however, plays no interference with the ability of the mic to pick up sounds. The sounds are not muddied, instead, have a great clarity. You just have to make sure that you do not place the microphone too close to your mouth or it could end up catching a lot of unnecessary noise.

The microphones are detachable, so you may keep it aside when not needed. Since the headset is also compatible with PCs and mobile devices, you can take off the microphone and use it to listen to music while on the go.

Features of the Tritton 720 + 7.1 Surround Headset

Conclusion

It is definitely not the best gaming headphone on the market, but is still able to offer quite a lot at its current price.
